John Mateyko, APMA®, WMCP™, RICP®

John Mateyko, APMA®, WMCP™, RICP® is an Augustana College alum - class of '98. He started at Dean Witter in 1999 in New York City. He has worked as a Financial Advisor for some of the country's largest banks, including Atlas Securities, US Bank, Chase, and Fifth Third Securities; where he won numerous awards for production and client acquisition.

In 2010, John Mateyko founded IDEX Financial in the Zurich Towers of Schaumburg, IL. In 2018, the firm expanded into Atlanta, Georgia through the acquisition of a financial planning practice.

John Mateyko is studying for the CIMA through the Yale School of Management. From the American College of Financial Planning he received the RICP® and the WMCP™.  From the College For Financial Planning he earned the APMA®.

John lives and works in the wonderfully unique community of Serenbe in rural Georgia that has been featured on the Today Show. He started the Serenbe Athletic Association in 2021, and acts as the Commissioner for the co-ed leagues of Chicago-style Softball and Kickball. He has also coached youth basketball for Schiller Park, IL from 2008-2013; and youth sports in Serenbe in 2020-2021.

John Mateyko is an avid participant in the arts. He was Christian Bale’s part-time stand-in on Batman Begins (‘05) and Public Enemies (‘09). He founded the SMZ Community Theater Group to raise money for Acton Academy in Serenbe, and they have raised $451,000 to date. Through that playhouse he produced and directed The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge ('21) and It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (coming in Dec '23).

John and his wife Slavyana got engaged at Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. They honeymooned in the Amalfi Coast, had their babymoon in Rome and Lake Como, and their son Sasha attends summer camp at TASIS in Lugano.

John is an outdoor sportsman. He has scuba dived in the Philippines, Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, Italy, Portugal, and the whale shark exhibit in the Georgia Aquarium. He won the Midwinters San Francisco Bay Race as part of the foredeck crew on the Beneteau 50 and biked down the Haleakala volcano in Maui.

Aside from his family, John's favorite pass time is hanging out with his Gold Coast Dog Show “Participation Award” winning dog, Rosco (pictured).
